This policy applies to the Apex File Share application.
Apex File Share is committed to protecting your privacy. The app works entirely offline over your local network — no data ever leaves your device or local network.
Information We Collect
Apex File Share does not collect any personal data. We do not collect names, emails, phone numbers, or any personally identifiable information. No analytics, no crash reporting sent to external servers, no account registration required.
How We Use Your Information
All file transfers occur exclusively over your local WiFi or LAN network between devices you control. No data is transmitted to our servers or any third-party servers. Your device name (used for discovery on the local network) is never stored outside your device.
Data Security
File transfers happen directly between devices on your local network using HTTP over LAN. No files are uploaded to the internet or any cloud service. Received files are stored in your device's local storage inside the ApexShare folder, automatically organized into subfolders (Images, Videos, Audio, Documents...).
Permissions We Request
WiFi and Network State: to discover devices and transfer files over local network. Nearby WiFi Devices (Android 12+): for peer discovery on the same network. Bluetooth (all Android versions): required by the Nearby Connections API for discovering nearby devices. Location (Android 12 and below): technically required by Android for WiFi and Bluetooth scanning — not used to track your location. Storage: to read files you choose to send and to save received files.
Local Network Usage
The app broadcasts its presence on your local network using UDP on port 45679 so other devices running the app can discover it. File transfers use TCP on port 45678. All communication is strictly local — no data reaches the internet.
Third-Party Services
Apex File Share does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. Google Play Services are used only for app distribution on Android. No Google Firebase, no Facebook SDK, no advertising SDK of any kind.
Children's Privacy
Apex File Share is safe for all ages. Since we collect no personal data whatsoever, there is no risk to children's privacy. The app is suitable for users of all ages.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the Last Updated date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
